Hidden in the Sand

August 28,

I came across a creature most beautiful and peculiar,

By the river she sat sunning herself onshore.

Warm rays shed water off bare wings,

And I took a picture to share.

She turned,

“You know I can’t let you show that,” she said, “to anyone.”

So the photo was tucked in the pages of my journal,

And I buried it in the earthen bank.

A misplaced jewel to be uncovered,

A faery hidden in the sand,

For you to find.
